In contrast, Donald Trump held a rally in Virginia, where he declared victory in the debate and criticized Biden's abilities and tenure as President. Trump questioned Biden's capability to lead the nation for another term, despite having secured substantial support within his party.

Some analysts gave Trump the edge in the debate, noting his unchanged style since leaving the White House. This continued support for Trump persists despite various legal and ethical controversies. Voters expressed mixed feelings about both candidates, with concerns primarily centered around their age and the perceived stagnancy in their political approaches.

Calls for Biden to step aside have arisen, but he has already secured overwhelming delegate support for the upcoming party convention. Unless Biden chooses to step down, replacing him as the candidate appears unlikely.

Donald Trump was also out and about holding a rally in Virginia, claiming victory in the debate and lashing out at what he saw as the failures and frailties of President Biden. The question every voter should be asking themselves today is not whether Joe Biden can survive a 90-minute debate performance, but whether America can survive four more years of crooked Joe Biden in the White House. The majority of analysts saw Trump as a clear victor. On the style front, Trump looked like four years had not passed since he's left the White House. And that, again, leaves people wondering, how is it possible for him, despite his convicted felon status, despite being a known and almost pathological liar, how is he still standing with the full weight of the Republican Party leadership behind him? And some voters were harsh about the age of both candidates. You can just see they're both very set in their ways and they're not changing it and they just want to make the other look bad. It was tragic. I had my hopes that Biden would make a good showing and I support Biden. And now I don't know what to think. There have been some calls for President Biden to make way for another candidate, but he's already secured the support of some 99% of the delegates to the party convention in August. And unless he agrees to step down, it's difficult to see how he could be replaced. We need you! We need you, we need you, the crowd chanted at an after-debate party.
