Tens of thousands of Palestinians have desperately started fleeing the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis after Israel issued an evacuation order. Gaza's European Hospital was included in the evacuation, leaving many sick and wounded patients desperate for care.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians are fleeing the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis after Israel issued an evacuation order. The evacuation includes Gaza’s European Hospital, leaving many sick and wounded patients without care. 

Ambulances are navigating through the heavily damaged areas of southern Gaza but have no facilities accepting patients. Khan Younis's European Union Hospital has closed following the Israeli evacuation order. There remain limited options as Nasser Hospital is already at full capacity.

Many of the injured were victims of overnight Israeli strikes that killed 25 Palestinians, according to Gaza health officials. Israel's military stated the bombings targeted areas used to launch rockets into Israel, allegedly by the militant group Palestine Islamic Jihad, which sometimes allies with Hamas.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that operations against Hamas will continue until the group is eliminated, despite the ongoing fighting showing no signs of subsiding. Consequently, a massive evacuation involving approximately a quarter of a million people from Khan Younis and its surrounding areas is underway, compounding civilian suffering and increasing humanitarian needs. 

Though Israel has boosted the flow of drinking water to Gaza, experts warn that the aid provided is insufficient for the population, which is under constant displacement. A displaced resident expressed the despair felt among many: "I can't do it... We're going to die walking."

An evacuation of such a massive scale would only heighten the suffering of civilians and drive humanitarian needs even higher. Israel has increased the flow of drinking water to Gaza but experts say there's still not nearly enough aid for a population constantly forced to move. I can't do it, he says.
