National Carrier Emirates cancelled all check-ins from 8am to midnight as staff and passengers struggled to arrive and leave. Passengers arriving in Dubai and already in transit will continue to be processed for their flights. Customers can expect delays to departures and arrivals and are advised to check the latest flight schedules. Bahrain was also hit by heavy rains, with schools in both countries forced to close. It comes after storms battered Oman starting Sunday. More than a dozen people have died in flooding there and authorities have used helicopters to pluck people from floodwaters. The Emirati Meteorology Centre warned storms would continue this Wednesday and urged people to stay away from severely flooded areas.
