This process involved an extensive vetting by lawyers who explored potential jurors' social media activities, political opinions, and personal backgrounds to establish their ability to impartially adjudicate the case. 

Before the trial can commence with opening statements, which could happen as early as next week, an additional eleven jurors need to be confirmed. This trial marks a historic event as it is the first criminal trial of a former US president.

The judge had to give the former president a stern warning after he reacted to one of the potential jurors, saying he would not have anyone intimidated in the courtroom. Last year Trump was charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records for his alleged role in a hush money scheme before the 2016 election. And while he was in court, President Joe Biden hit the campaign trail, ammunition for the former president. I should be right now in Pennsylvania, in Florida, in many other states, North Carolina, Georgia, campaigning. This is all coming from the Biden White House because the guy can't put two sentences together, he can't campaign. They're using this in order to try and win an election and it's not working that way, it's working the opposite way. For months now, Trump's team has pushed to delay the New York trial as part of a broader strategy to push back all four of his trials until after the 2024 election.
